Self-Directed Care …the Ultimate Choice!
The Arc’s Agency With Choice (AWC) program supports people with intellectual disabilities and autism and their families in recruiting, screening, and referring for hire service workers of their choice.
The Arc of Chester County manages and fulfills the legal employer responsibilities in this service delivery model. This model also allows for maximum choice and control in the lives of people with disabilities and their families.
Agency With Choice partners with individuals with disabilities and/or their representative to select their own Support Service Professional (SSPs).
This program offers individuals the ability to:
- Choose and control the services they receive
- Recruit and initiate hiring of SSPs
- Determine how and when services will be provided
- Receive assistance and training from AWC to manage SSPs
- Have additional support through the use of a Supports Broker
- Have Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) identified vendor services managed and paid for by The Arc’s Agency With Choice program

The Arc of Chester County Agency With Choice is available to people enrolled in the Person Family Directed Support (P/FDS), Community Living or Consolidated Waivers in Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties of Pennsylvania.
